Áquarela do Brasil (Waterverfschilderij van Brazilië), is niet zomaar een concert; het is een muzikaal feest van schoonheid, diversiteit en laat de levendigheid zien van de Braziliaanse cultuur en traditie. Het programma neemt je mee in de bezielde en gepassioneerde Braziliaanse muziek. Het is een reis door verschillende songs en stijlen waarmee de zanger zich ten diepste identificeert. Samba, Música Popular Brasileira (populaire muziek), Bossa Nova en nieuwe, originele muziek van het Yoryia and Joy Goh duo. Na de pauze sluit de geweldige Braziliaanse percussionist en drummer Alaor Soares aan.   

Alaor heeft altijd al een passie gehad voor muziek. Vanaf zijn jonge jaren met vrienden en op huisfeesten, speelt muziek een grote rol in zijn leven. Tijdens zijn studie aan het Stedelijk Conservatorium in São Paulo raakt hij geïnteresseerd in lesgeven en methodieken.
Lesgeven, optredens, muziek en kunst; het loopt als een rode draad door zijn leven. In Brazilië werkt Alaor samen met Braziliaanse kunstenaars, scholen, theaters, muziek- en dansgroepen. Met de bekende formatie Zero, staat hij in het voorprogramma van Tina Turner in een uitverkocht Maracanã Stadium, Rio de Janeiro en in São Paulo (1988). Eenmaal in Nederland, debuteert Alaor met een hoofdrol in de film Transit van de Nederlandse regisseur Eddy Terstall (1992). Hij wordt aangesteld door het Rotterdamse Conservatorium en is één van de weinige docenten voor Braziliaanse muziek op HBO niveau in Europa. Studenten uit de omliggende landen komen speciaal naar Rotterdam om zijn lessen te volgen. Hij organiseert studiereizen naar Brazilië, waarbij studenten kennismaken met de muzikale rijkdom van Rio de Janeiro, Salvador en Recife. Vanuit die achtergrond wordt Alaor steeds meer gevraagd om trainingen en teambuilding workshops te geven aan bedrijven. Sinds 1995 heeft Alaor talloze sessies en workshops gecoached in binnen- en buitenland.
Alaor heeft een voorliefde voor de organisatie van evenementen en  de promotie van Braziliaanse cultuur. In 1998 start hij met de Samba Meeting en nodigt jaarlijks Braziliaanse percussiegrootmeesters en topdansers uit voor  workshops en masterclasses in Nederland. Als producent van het Viva Brasil Festival Amsterdam – jaarlijks internationaal muziekfestival voor Braziliaanse Jazz en populaire muziek – heeft Alaor vele Braziliaanse topartiesten naar Nederland gehaald als: Djavan, Gal Costa, Marisa Monte, Gilberto Gil, Daniela Mercury en vele anderen.

The concert is a musical journey made through different songs and styles from Brazil, with which the singer deeply identifies. From lively Samba music, catchy MPB music, Chilling Bossa Nova, and creative original music.

Join us for an unforgettable evening of music, dance, and celebration as we explore the vibrant sounds of Brazil. The concert will be performed by The Yoryia and Joy Goh duo, And the second part of the concert, the duo will be accompanied by the incredible Brazillian percussionist and drummer Alaor Soares.

Alaor has always had a passion for music. From his early years with friends and at house parties, music plays a major role in his life. During his studies at the Municipal Conservatory in São Paulo, he became interested in teaching and methodologies.
Teaching, Performance, Music and Art; it is a big theme in his life. In Brazil, Alaor collaborates with Brazilian artists, schools, theatres, music and dance groups. With the well-known formation Zero, he is the support act for Tina Turner in a sold-out Maracanã Stadium, Rio de Janeiro and in São Paulo (1988). Once in the Netherlands, Alaor made his debut with a leading role in the film Transit by Dutch director Eddy Terstall (1992). He is appointed by the Rotterdam Conservatory and is one of the few teachers for Brazilian music at higher vocational level in Europe. Students from surrounding countries come to Rotterdam especially to follow his classes. He organizes study trips to Brazil, where students become acquainted with the musical wealth of Rio de Janeiro, Salvador and Recife. From that background, Alaor is increasingly being asked to provide training and team building workshops to companies. Since 1995, Alaor has coached countless sessions and workshops in the Netherlands and abroad.
Alaor has a preference for organizing events and promoting Brazilian culture. In 1998 he started the Samba Meeting and annually invites Brazilian percussion masters and top dancers for workshops and masterclasses in the Netherlands. As producer of the Viva Brasil Festival Amsterdam – annual international music festival for Brazilian Jazz and popular music – Alaor has brought many top Brazilian artists to the Netherlands, such as: Djavan, Gal Costa, Marisa Monte, Gilberto Gil, Daniela Mercury and many others.
